Group Sessions

For the safety and benefit of all our clients, the Contrology Center offers small group classes in a personal setting to allow the highly trained instructors to modify the exercises to accommodate each client’s personal fitness level. If you are new to Pilates, you are strongly encouraged to take advantage of our introductory package of private lessons to learn the basic principles of Pilates and become familiar with the equipment before joining one of our group classes.

A variety of group classes are offered to fit the interest and fitness goals of our customer base.

Below is a listing of our class offerings:

Reformer (Level 1, 2, 3): The Pilates reformer class takes the client through a full body workout. Exercises are performed in a sequence that prepares the body to be warm and ready to execute the next exercise, with a focus on flow and breathing. Please note, Level 2 class moves at a faster pace with more advanced exercises. Clients should be familiar with the Level 1 exercise names and be able to adequately execute the exercises before taking a Level 2 class.

Tower/ Equipment (Level 1, 2,3): The Pilates Tower offers a spring resistance to both assistance and challenge the client to accomplish the fundamental Pilates movements. This full body workout incorporates the Pilates Tower, Chair, and additional props to accommodate the needs of the bodies in the session that day. Every class is unique but the focus is always uniform body development. Clients should be familiar with the Level 1 exercise names and be able to adequately execute the exercises before taking a Level 2 class.

Mat (Level 1, 2, 3): The Mat workout is a great way to start Pilates and offers the client the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the Pilates method. Exercises can be modified and are adaptable among different fitness levels as you become more comfortable with the method. This is a great class to take in addition to your equipment classes as it challenges you to create resistance within your own body and provides you with exercises you can perform at home or when traveling and can’t get to your favorite equipment class!

Chair (1, 2): For the more experienced client, the Chair class is the ultimate in flexibility, coordination, and strength. For your safety, please ask an instructor for approval before signing up for this class.

Pilates Cardio: This class combines the classical reformer exercises with 20 minutes of a terrific cardio and core workout on our low impact Pilates jump board.

Cardio Express: This 30 minute class offers the client an abbreviated version of our Pilates Cardio class. We start on time and stay focused-get energized and make the rest of your day better!
