Certified. Compassionate. Committed to You.
At The Contrology Center, our instructors are more than fitness professionals—they’re highly trained movement educators who are here to guide, support, and adapt to your journey. Every instructor on our team has completed over 950 hours of certification through The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program in Boulder, Colorado, one of the most rigorous and respected programs in the world. That training includes in-depth study of anatomy, postural assessment, injury prevention, and the classical Pilates method as it was originally taught by Joseph Pilates. But beyond credentials, our instructors bring care, presence, and deep attention to every session. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, training for a performance, or brand new to Pilates, our instructors are equipped to meet you exactly where you are—with safety, clarity, and compassion.

Renee Mrzyglod is the proud owner of The Contrology Center, which she first opened in the basement of her home in 2012. What began as a small studio has since grown into a thriving space where the many benefits of the classical Pilates method can be shared with the community. Prior to opening the Pilates studio, Renee danced professionally as a classical ballet dancer for nearly a decade. Through that experience, she came to understand the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation—lessons that continue to shape her teaching today. After retiring from the stage in 1998, she stayed connected to her love of movement as a ballet instructor while earning her BBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she graduated magna cum laude. Renee completed her 950-hour advanced teacher training certification through The Pilates Center in 2013, an internationally respected program known for its comprehensive instruction on all the classical apparatus. Her commitment to ongoing learning led her to complete the Master’s Program with The Pilates Center in 2019. She also earned her certification as a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) in 2022 and regularly pursues continuing education to stay inspired and deepen her expertise. Drawing from both her professional dance background and extensive Pilates training, Renee offers clients a thoughtful, informed approach that emphasizes safe, functional, and authentic movement. She is dedicated to providing high-quality instruction in a peaceful and supportive environment where every client feels encouraged to grow.

Cathy Clearman started her return to life (Pilates journey) at the Contrology Center in 2015 after having trouble recovering from a surgery. Cathy soon found out that with Pilates she was not experiencing chronic pain for the first time in years and was even stronger than before her surgery through consistent Pilates practice. She also noticed that there were intangible benefits she was gaining from the control and calmness that Pilates teaches the user that led to promotions in her job and an increased ability to handle life’s curve balls. In 2019, Pilates (with the mind-body awareness and control from this discipline) helped Cathy through her breast cancer diagnosis, surgery and after effects thanks to both her doctors and her instructors. Cathy trained under the mentorship of Master Teacher, Debby Orlando, in the extensive 950 hour Advanced Teacher Training Program through The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado. In addition to Pilates, Cathy enjoys painting, walking, traveling and reading. Cathy is excited to help others find that same energy and strength that she has found through Pilates.

Christine Jones brings heartfelt passion and deep empathy to every stage of her client’s Pilates journey. Her introduction to Pilates began in 2015, when she sought relief from chronic low back pain and arthritis. Through dedicated participation in privates, duets, and group classes, Christine experienced firsthand the transformative power of Pilates—gaining strength, improving flexibility, and eradicating her pain. Her consistent practice evolved into a deeper calling: to share the benefits of classical Pilates with others. Christine trained under Master Instructor Debby Orlando and completed the prestigious 950-hour Advanced Teacher Training Program through The Pilates Center (TPC) in Boulder, Colorado—one of the most respected classical Pilates programs in the nation and graduated in 2020. Christine believes that Pilates is more than an exercise program—it’s a profound methodology that brings every body back to life. She embraces both the movements that feel natural and those that continue to challenge her, and she brings this same spirit of curiosity and resilience to her teaching. With a warm and encouraging presence, Christine helps clients discover their own unique path to balance, strength, flexibility, and renewed energy—in body, mind, and spirit. Christine is a proud mother of four and resides in Germantown.
